Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., sounded the alarm this week following the FBI’s raid on President Donald Trump’s private residence in Florida.

Greene and other Republican leaders have been pushing back against the FBI and Department of Justice and warning Americans that the Mar-a-Lago raid was meant to “intimidate” the American people.

In response to the FBI’s raid, Greene exclaimed, “DEFUND THE FBI!”

The 45th president has claimed the attack was a “coordinated attack” between the Democrat Party and the FBI. Trump said the raid represents “an unprecedented infringement of the rights of every American citizen.” In the aftermath of the raid, Republicans and even some Democrats have demanded the FBI, the department of justice, and Attorney General Merrick Garland be held accountable for their actions.

Greene has warned Americans that the political weaponization of law enforcement and justice is what happens in other countries before dictators take over. “This is the type of rogue tactics that happen in countries right before they fall into tyrannical dictatorships,” she said. “No one should tolerate this!!!”

Trump explained the DOJ and the FBI were shown the secure boxes of White House documents in June.

In a post on Truth Social, he said, “They were shown the secured area, and the boxes themselves.” The 45th president said law enforcement requested an additional lock be installed to protect the boxes, however despite complying with the requests of law enforcement, the FBI initiated a raid on Trump’s residence Monday while also refusing to show Trump the search warrant.

In response to the news, Greene stated, “If they can fool people into believing a lie to achieve their goals they are all in. President Trump had already been voluntarily cooperating and the FBI had already been there.” She added, “The raid was for the news and to intimidate all of you.”

In addition to “defunding” the FBI, Greene is helping lead the charge against the “most dangerous people in government.” Greene claims the most dangerous people are “unelected bureaucrats who run the federal government but never leave.” Echoing the words of the 45th president, the congresswoman said, “DRAIN THE SWAMP!”
