FBI raids home of Project Veritas Founder James O’Keefe in connection with Ashley Biden’s diary

The FBI reportedly raided the home of Project Veritas Founder James O’Keefe in connection to a “stolen” diary belonging to Joe Biden’s daughter, Ashley Biden. It appears that the homes of several Project Veritas journalists experienced unexpected visits from the FBI.

New York Times reported FBI agents conducted two court-ordered searches in Mamaroneck in Westchester County and another location in New York City on Thursday. The searches took place in the home of O’Keefe and individuals who worked with the organization before.

Reportedly, the agents “performed law enforcement activity related to an ongoing investigation,” a spokesperson for the FBI told the outlet. The spokesperson, however, refused to comment on the details of the search.

According to Fox News, the investigation is connected to Ashely Biden’s diary that went missing days before the 2020 presidential election. Project Veritas has been accused of “stealing” the diary.

However, in the wake of the search, O’Keefe released a video addressing the group’s connection to the diary and claiming that “Project Veritas came under attack.”

“I woke to the news that apartments and homes of Project Veritas journalists, or former journalists, had been raided by FBI agents,” O’Keefe said. “It appears the Southern District of New York now has journalists in their sights for the supposed crime of doing their jobs lawfully and honestly, or at least this journalist.”

O’Keefe questioned how the New York Times became “aware of the execution of a search warrant” as the “subject matter of the search warrant as a grand jury is secret.” O’Keefe reports that within an hour of a Project Veritas journalist’s home being searched, a NYT reporter curiously reached out to them for comment.

“We do not know how the New York Times was aware of the execution of a search warrant at our reporter’s home or the subject matter of the search warrant as a grand jury investigation is secret,” O’Keefe claimed. “The FBI took materials of current, former Project Veritas journalists despite the fact that our legal team previously contacted the Department of Justice and voluntarily conveyed unassailable facts that demonstrate Project Veritas’ lack of involvement in criminal activity, and or criminal intent.”

“Our efforts were the stuff of responsible ethical journalism, and we are in no doubt that Project Veritas acted properly at each and every step,” he added.

O’Keefe explained his side of the story which is that “tipsters” reached out to the group last year, suggesting they had Ashley Biden’s diary containing “explosive allegations” after it was reportedly abandoned in a room where she recently stayed. O’Keefe says Project Veritas did not publish the diary since it could not verify the authenticity of the information found.

“Project Veritas gave the diary to law enforcement to ensure it could be returned to its rightful owner. We never published it,” O’Keefe said. “Now, Ms. Biden’s father’s Department of Justice, specifically the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, appears to be investigating the situation, claiming the diary was stolen. We don’t know if it was but it begs the question: In what world is the alleged theft of a diary investigated by the President’s FBI and his Department of Justice? A diary?”

The New York Times is currently involved in an ongoing defamation lawsuit filed by Project Veritas over the newspaper claiming that the organization “lack knowledge or information.”
