Florida to recommend against vaccines for healthy kids

Florida’s Surgeon General, Joseph Ladapo, announced the Department of Health plans to recommend “healthy children” not receive Covid-19 vaccines during a roundtable event on Monday.

The roundtable was fittingly labeled “The Curtain Close on Covid Theater.” During the conclusion of the roundtable, Ladapo said, “The Florida Department of Health is going to be the first state to recommend against the COVID-19 vaccines for healthy children officially.”

Critics of Florida’s recommendation against healthy children receiving the Covid-19 vaccines argue the surgeon general’s comments contradict the official guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The CDC “recommends everyone ages 5 years and older get a COVID-19 vaccine to help protect against COVID-19,” according to its website.

However, multiple doctors and medical professionals expressed concern for children that the risks associated with taking the vaccines outweigh the risks of contracting Covid-19. Dr. Tracy Hoeg said, “Even for boys who are previously healthy who haven’t been previously infected, we didn’t find that there was a benefit (to getting vaccinated), there was actually overall risk of giving them the second dose.”

Additionally, the panel stressed the importance of herd immunity and pointed out that many children have already contracted Covid-19 over the past two years.

In light of this information, Florida’s surgeon general remains committed to protecting the health of Florida’s youth by recommending against Covid-19 vaccinations for healthy children.

Florida has remained committed to freedom while the Biden administration and Democrat leaders throughout the country attempted to force Americans to get vaccinated against their will. Florida is again leading the charge for freedom by moving past “Covid theater” and allowing Americans to make their own medical decisions.

In January, Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., expressed his commitment to protecting freedom, “Florida has stood strong as a rock of freedom, and it is upon this rock that we must build Florida’s future.”
