President Trump proved that he’s got the momentum to beat Joe Biden in 2024 in a new poll, winning a hypothetical head-to-head matchup in a mainstream survey from YouGov/Yahoo! News.
In their survey among U.S. adults that was conducted between February 23-27, Trump beat Biden by two percentage points at 45 percent to 43 percent. Among Independents, Trump hammered Biden by a whopping 11 points, netting 46 percent of support to Biden’s 35 percent.
Trump’s continued victory in even the most mainstream polls demonstrates his solid position as the GOP favorite, eclipsing the popularity of the newest conservative shining star, Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla.,
As reported by RSBN, a recent Emerson College poll found that among GOP primary voters, President Trump snagged an incredible 55 percent of support against DeSantis’s 25 percent. In that same poll, former U.N. ambassador and GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley snagged just 5 percent of support.
For reference, Gov. DeSantis has not yet announced a presidential candidacy for 2024, but his recent unofficial “book tour” promoting his new memoir, “The Courage to be Free,” has prompted rampant speculation that he is gearing up to make a bid soon.
The YouGov poll also found that Trump was the inarguable top choice for GOP voters in a 2024 National Republican Primary, coming in hot at 45 percent of support compared to DeSantis’s 29 percent, demonstrating an 8-point gain for Trump from their Feb. 6 poll and a 6-point drop for DeSantis.
In their poll, Haley garnered 5 percent of support, while former Vice President Mike Pence snagged 2 percent. In their head-to-head poll pitting DeSantis and Trump directly against each other, Trump won 47 percent against DeSantis’s 39 percent.
“GREAT POLL NUMBERS,” Trump wrote on Truth Social this week. “LEADING BIDEN, DESANCTUS, AND ALL OTHERS BY A LOT. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
