GOP gubernatorial nominee and State Sen. Doug Mastriano, R-Pa., has vowed to transform the Keystone State into a bastion of individual liberty for all Pennsylvanians ahead of the November election. “Pennsylvania is going to be a place where people want to go,” Mastriano shared on his Twitter profile. “It’s going to be the Florida of the north.”

Mastriano, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump in May, soared to victory in the primary election race in Pennsylvania, netting the Republican nomination for governor. Per RSBN, former Pennsylvania State Representative Lou Barletta came in second to Mastriano, but the margin of victory between them was broad – to the tune of more than 300,000 votes.

In early September, President Trump held a Save America rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to stump for his endorsed candidates, which included Mastriano as well as GOP Senate nominee Dr. Mehmet Oz.

“What a fantastic rally with President Trump!” Mastriano wrote on Twitter following the event. “Thank you for coming to Pennsylvania!”

Mastriano is facing a Democrat opponent in the November elections, Pennsylvania State Attorney General Josh Shapiro. “The momentum’s with us,” Mastriano said during an interview on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle.”

He continued, “…We see a movement across the state that’s unparalleled, and you’re right – because of crime, Josh Shapiro is our attorney general and has been for six years and crime has gone up 37 percent…instead of him doing his job, Laura, he sued to keep businesses shut down. Instead of taking care of kids and watching crime and prosecuting sex trafficking – which is just, ridiculously high in Pennsylvania – he sued to keep masks on kids last year.”

Shapiro, like Arizona Democrat gubernatorial nominee Katie Hobbs, has declined to debate his GOP opponent. “He’s a coward,” Mastriano said simply during his conversation on “The Ingraham Angle.”

Mastriano and Shapiro will face off in a fight for the governorship of Pennsylvania on Nov. 8.
