Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., followed up this week on a sweepingly bipartisan bill that was approved last Friday in the House of Representatives that would declassify intelligence related to the origins of the novel coronavirus.

McCarthy signed the legislation on Wednesday, officially sending the bill on its way to Joe Biden’s desk in the Oval Office.

The speaker announced the news on Twitter:

“BREAKING ⇨ I just signed legislation to declassify info on COVID origins. Democrats refused to hold a single hearing on this. With GOP control of the House, we’ve held hearings, exposed critical info, and are getting to the truth. We’re keeping our Commitment to America.”

Per RSBN, the House voted last week to declassify information related to the origins of Covid in an impressive 419-0 votes, preceded by bipartisan approval in the Senate.

The legislation comes amid confirmation from federal agencies like the U.S. Department of Energy that the coronavirus likely originated from a lab in China.

These newest admissions have emerged years after President Donald Trump suggested that the Covid virus had its roots in Wuhan, China.

In fact, the president recently penned an extensive op-ed for the Daily Mail that touched on the newest reports.

The president wrote, “Three years ago, I declared that COVID-19 almost certainly came from the Chinese Wuhan lab. Now, the world is finally admitting the truth. The cover-up of COVID-19’s origins is one of the greatest scandals in the history of the world. Millions of people all over the planet have died from the China Virus.”

As reported by RSBN, researchers operating within the House Coronavirus Pandemic Select Subcommittee recently suggested that there was evidence that former Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci allegedly “prompted” Dr. Kristian Anderson of Scripps Research to write a paper that was aimed at deliberately disproving the theory that Covid leaked from a lab.

Via The Hill, it is not clear whether Joe Biden will sign the bipartisan legislation into law.
