Melania Trump shares how to purchase her NFT

First Lady Melania Trump announced last week that she is launching a non-fungible token (NFT) initiative, with the proceeds going to a charity dedicated to helping kids who age out of foster care.

The NFT is a watercolor painting that the artist Marc-Antonine says, “embodies Mrs. Trump’s cobalt blue eyes, providing the collector with an amulet to inspire.”

The sale of Melania Trump’s NFT opened on Dec. 16 and it will be available for purchase until Dec. 31 on her website, MelaniaTrump.com.

The investing website Money Realist describes the following process for how to purchase Melania Trump’s NFT:

To purchase the item, you need to create a crypto wallet. Although you can choose your favorite wallet provider, the former first lady’s website recommends the Phantom wallet.

Once you set up the wallet, the next step is to load it with SOL crypto. You can purchase the crypto directly from the wallet. If you already have SOL in another account, you can transfer it to the wallet. Make sure that you have enough SOL to cover the cost of the NFT and transaction fee. You can complete the purchase by connecting the wallet to the NFT platform and selecting the ‘buy now’ button.”

NFTs are digital “assets” that use blockchain technology to set one asset apart from any other. Once an NFT is created, it cannot be replicated.

Blockchain is a decentralized digital ledger that documents transactions, ownership, and validity so that each NFT can be tracked.

NFT’s include, jpegs, and video clips, and some are going for top-dollar.

People and businesses as varied as Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey and hamburger chain White Castle are getting in on the NFT game. White Castle NFTs were designed to mark the burger chain’s 100th birthday. The company partnered with Doodle labs to create a Sliderverse series of 5,000 NFTS. In 2006, Twitter’s Jack Dorsey created his first tweet on his Twitter platform. Fast forward fifteen years, and Dorsey‘s NFT of that tweet sold for $2.9 million to Oracle Corp. CEO Sina Estavi.

Time is running out for potential buyers of Melania Trump’s NFT. The sale ends on New Year’s Eve.
