Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., spoke out against the imprisonment of famed anti-lockdown Dr. Simone Gold, saying, “The things happening in this country are unreal and must end.”

America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) founder Dr. Simone Gold was sentenced to two months in prison after entering the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. Once inside the building, she delivered a speech about her opposition to Covid-19 vaccines and lockdowns to a crowd gathered in the National Statuary Hall, The Epoch Times noted.

Greene railed against Gold’s imprisonment on Twitter.

“Reminder: Dr. Simone Gold has been in maximum prison since July 26th for walking around in the Capitol. She walked in open doors on Jan 6th gave a speech & left. She treated MANY people including MOC for covid. The things happening in this country are unreal and must end,” the congresswoman wrote.

Gold was among the medical professionals who gathered on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court to warn against Covid vaccines and promote the use of hydroxychloroquine to fight off the virus, as seen in a viral video a few months prior to Jan. 6.

However, Gold was later arrested and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of entering the Capitol building, which she admitted regretting in an interview with The Washington Post, according to court documents.

On top of the 60-day prison sentence, Gold was ordered to pay a $9,500 fine and $500 in restitution, as well as receiving one year of supervised release, The Epoch Times added.

Gold reacted to the sentence on Twitter, writing, “The loss of our country’s freedoms.”

Nonetheless, in a statement issued from prison and obtained by Life Site News, Gold affirmed that her “spirits are high” and expressed determination to “keep fighting” for medical freedom.

“My spirits are high. I am more determined than ever to keep fighting for you and medical freedom,” Gold wrote in a letter to her supporters.
