An overwhelming majority of Iowans strongly disapprove of Joe Biden’s job performance as president, according to a Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa poll.
A paltry 31 percent of Iowans approve of Biden’s job performance, while 62 percent overwhelmingly disapprove of him.
Less than one-third of Iowans approve of Joe Biden just weeks before Donald Trump’s rally in Des Moines. Biden’s approval in the Hawkeye State has fallen 12 percentage points from June, when 43 percent of Iowans approved of him and 52 disapproved of him.
Although 86 percent of Iowa Democrats approve of Biden’s job performance, only 4 percent of Republicans and 29 percent of Independents approve of him.
Iowa’s disdain for Biden follows his botched handling of Afghanistan where he abandoned hundreds of Americans in the now Taliban-controlled country, and mistakenly authorized a drone strike on an innocent family, killing ten civilians, including seven children. Only 22 percent of Iowans approve of Biden’s handling of Afghanistan.
Iowa, a longtime battle ground state, is among many other swing states that have shown low favorability ratings for Biden.
According to a Civiqs poll, Biden’s approval rating is underwater in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Democrats will face an uphill battle in Iowa during the 2022 midterms following Biden’s exceedingly low favorability. Democrats are hoping to unseat Republicans Gov. Kim Reynolds and Sen. Chuck Grassley, and pull off victories in the state’s four congressional races.
