Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, told Fox News Digital this week that there is “zero chance that Joe Biden runs again in 2024.” Cruz, who has been an outspoken critic of the Biden administration, additionally told the outlet, “The degree of his mental impairment, at this point, is deeply disturbing. This is a man who shakes hands with the empty air. This is a man who talks to the Easter Bunny.”

Cruz is no stranger to frank speech, and he recently delivered a serious tongue-lashing toward the Democrats in power in Washington D.C. during August’s recent CPAC event in Dallas, Texas. He called the radical left a group of “power-hungry, abusive, totalitarian nimwits.”

Cruz further told Fox on Tuesday, “Biden is not up to the job today, and I think there is zero possibility that he will run again in 2024.”

Biden’s odds of winning reelection are slim, even if he did decide to run. His poll numbers have been disastrous. For example, in August, his approval rating dropped lower than 40 percent in the sixth quarter of his presidency, which was lower than any other president in history, exceeding the unpopularity of former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.

Republican voter turnout is on track to eclipse Democrats in 2022 as well, providing a foreshadow of what turnout will likely look like in a 2024 presidential race. According to a new poll from The Economist/YouGov, 66 percent of surveyed registered Republicans indicated that they will be voting in the 2022 midterms, as opposed to just 59 percent of registered Democrats who said they were likely to vote.

Sen. Cruz also told Fox News Digital that he believed Republicans had more than a 90 percent chance of flipping the House red and a 60 percent chance of flipping the Senate to GOP control. “That being said, I think it is going to be a very, very good year for Republicans,” he told the outlet. “I think the environment is strong.”
