Voters in the Lone Star State are overwhelmingly supportive of Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, and a new poll from UT/Texas Politics Project has confirmed their rejection of his Democrat opponent, Beto O’Rourke.

Per Breitbart, most Texans are concerned about ensuring border security as well as the state’s economy.

According to the UT/Texas Politics Project Poll, Abbott is holding a 45 percent lead over O’Rourke’s 40 percent of support in Texas, while only 8 percent of respondents who were surveyed purported to be “undecided” in their vote.

Additionally, the poll found that more Texans trust Abbott to lead on policy than O’Rourke on the following:

  • Immigration and Border Security: 48 percent trust Abbott over 36 percent who trust O’Rourke,
  • State Economy: 46 percent trust Abbott over 35 percent who trust O’Rourke,
  • Public Safety: 46 percent trust Abbott over 38 percent who trust O’Rourke,
  • Property Taxes: 40 percent trust Abbott over 35 percent who trust O’Rourke,
  • And Voting and Elections: 43 percent trust Abbott over 40 percent who trust O’Rourke.

Abbott was also found to be preferable to voters on issues like public education, gun violence, and the state’s electric grid.

Further, the poll found that 52 percent of respondents supported the state’s move to bus migrants who have crossed the southern border into sanctuary cities like Chicago and Washington D.C.

As previously reported by RSBN, Gov. Abbott has sent busloads of illegal immigrants into Democrat-led cities like Chicago, Illinois. On Thursday, he announced that two more busloads of migrants had arrived at the Naval Observatory in Washington D.C.

“We’re sending migrants to her backyard to call on the Biden Administration to do its job & secure the border,” Abbott stated on Twitter.

Based on the UT/Texas poll, border security is Abbott’s most popular winning policy subject with voters. His continued implementation of relocating migrants who have crossed the border illegally has heavily factored into potential voters’ support of the incumbent governor heading into November’s election.
