President Trump has “no comment” on former Defense Secretary Mark Esper’s claim alleging the 45th president considered launching missiles to take down drug cartels in Mexico.

Amid the launch of his new book “A Sacred Oath: Memoirs of a Secretary of Defense During Extraordinary Times,” Esper appeared in a sit-down “60 Minutes” interview and spouted several misleading claims about the president.

Esper implied that the 45th president suggested shooting Black Lives Matter protesters and sending active-duty troops to Washington D.C. St. John’s Episcopal Church was set on fire during the riots, as previously reported.

The former Defense Secretary further alleges that Trump asked him if the U.S. military could “shoot missiles into Mexico to destroy the drug labs,” Axios reported.

The president quickly disputed the claims in a letter sent to CBS’s Norah O’Donnell, calling Esper “weak and totally ineffective.”

However, whether Trump considered targeting drug cartels with missiles was left unclarified, with the president writing, “No comment” to the statement.

While many left-leaning news networks were outraged about Trump’s possible plan to dismantle Mexican drug labs, the president’s son questioned the outrage, asking, “Is that supposed to be a bad thing???”

“I’m still trying to figure out the recent media outrage about my father possibly wanting to target Mexican drug cartel manufacturing facilities in Mexico… Is that supposed to be a bad thing???” Donald Trump Jr. wrote on Twitter.

“During the botched Afghan withdrawal the Biden administration sent missiles into Afghanistan killing almost a dozen innocent civilians and their media backers said nothing, but those same stooges are complaining about the Trump wanting to send missiles to take out drug cartels,” he added.
