This week, President Donald Trump slammed the Big Tech giant Twitter, predicting its doom in two heated statements posted to the 45th president’s competing social media platform, Truth Social.

“I think Twitter is going down,” he wrote. “Bots, Spam, Fake Accounts (and more!), all add up to big trouble, but the biggest trouble of all for them is that, no matter how many times they may ask, or admit they were wrong, I will never go back on Twitter again – TRUTH IS BETTER!”

In April, Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Twitter for a staggering $44 billion. However, the deal has been on hold since last week, “pending details supporting calculation that spam/fake accounts do indeed represent less than 5% of users,” according to Musk himself.

Trump additionally predicted that Twitter was “in big trouble” and that it was “unlikely to see Elon Musk close his ridiculous deal with them after having learned so much about the massive number of Bots and Fake Accounts that people using Twitter must endure.”

Musk previously stated that he intended to “make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with  new features, making algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.”

“Elon has no idea what he is getting into,” Trump continued in his Truth Social post. “It’s a complete mess where users are fleeing, in many cases to TRUTH.”

Last week, Truth Social expanded its user reach by launching a web-based app for those eager to jump onto the platform. Previously, the app had been available only on iOS devices through the Apple App Store.

Truth Social has positioned itself as a serious competitor to behemoth “Big Tech” giants like Twitter and Facebook. According to the CEO of Trump Media & Technology, Devin Nunes, Truth Social is also “the fastest-growing social media company in history.”

“There is no confidence in Twitter anymore,” President Trump concluded. “It has become a dark, unfriendly and very boring hole!”
