Trump swings back at DeSantis’s non-involvement in pending indictment: ‘I’m sure he will want to fight these misfits just like I do!’

President Donald Trump wasted no time in responding to Gov. Ron DeSantis’s, R-Fla., vow on Monday to avoid getting “involved” in the president’s potential upcoming indictment by the Manhattan district attorney’s office.

“Ron DeSanctimonious will probably find out about FALSE ACCUSATIONS & FAKE STORIES sometime in the future, as he gets older, wiser, and better known, when he’s unfairly and illegally attacked by a woman, even classmates that are ‘underage’ (or possibly a man!),” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I’m sure he will want to fight these misfits just like I do!”

Trump illustrated his point by attaching a screenshot to his statement on social media from Meidas Touch that claimed the Florida governor had “partied with underage girls at drinking party while teaching at a Georgia school[.]”

Gov. DeSantis’s comments on Trump’s potential upcoming indictment were anticipated by many conservatives, in light of the national spotlight on the Sunshine State and the governor’s potential 2024 presidential candidacy. Although he has not announced a presidential bid yet, he is rumored to be considering a May 2023 announcement.

Per RSBN, DeSantis adamantly told the press on Monday that Florida would be uninvolved in the Manhattan district attorney’s move to possibly extradite Trump to New York on charges related to the 2016 “hush money” case with Stormy Daniels.

“We are not involved in this, [we] won’t be involved in this,” he stated. “I have no interest in getting involved in some type of manufactured circus by some Soros DA. He’s trying to do a political spectacle, he’s trying to virtue signal to his base…I’ve got to spend my time on issues that actually matter to people. I can’t spend my time worrying about things of that nature. So, we’re not going to be involved in it in any way…”

Trump’s MAGA PAC also released a statement after DeSantis’s presser on Monday, pressing the Florida governor on his stance:

“During a press conference Monday, DeSantis was asked about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s reported plan to abuse the legal system. ‘I’ve got real issues I got to deal with here in the state of Florida,’ DeSantis said. ‘We’ve got so many things pending in front of the legislature. I’ve got to spend my time on issues that actually matter to people.’

Democrats abusing the justice system to target Republicans is a real issue that impacts all Americans. Our country won’t survive if the courts are weaponized to imprison political opponents.”
