President Donald Trump took to Truth Social this week to comment on the state of American entertainment, ripping capsized ratings for late-night comedy television. “It was my great honor to have destroyed the ratings of Late Night ‘Comedy,’ shows,” Trump wrote, flashing his signature humor.

Trump continued, “There is nothing funny about the shows, the three hosts have very little talent, and when Jimmy Fallon apologized for having humanized ‘Trump,’ and his ratings soared, the Radical Left forced him to apologize – that was effectively the end of The Tonight Show.”

With his comments, Trump shared a link to a Fox News article about “floundering” late-night comedy shows. The report revealed that shows like “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” have been sinking in the ratings since Trump left office, while viewership on Fox News host Greg Gutfeld’s show has outpaced Colbert.

“In any event, congratulations to Greg Gutfeld!” Trump quipped.

Late-night comedy’s purported viewership loss has been a subject of celebration for the 45th president. He recently commented on the reported demotion of CNN’s Don Lemon from primetime television when the leftist news anchor announced that he would be joining a morning show instead.

Trump responded blithely in September, “A small step for television, a giant step for mankind.”

As previously reported by RSBN, Trump had also slammed CNN for being “Ratings Challenged (to put it mildly!)”

Interestingly, Fox News’ report indicated that NBC’s “Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon was garnering 3.3 million viewers in 2016, but in 2020, that average has dropped to 1.4 million, demonstrating a nearly 60 percent audience loss.

The outlet also reported a 36 percent viewership loss for “The Late Late Show” with James Corden as well as a near-60 percent loss for HBO’s “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.”
