President Donald Trump endorsed the idea of placing ballot drop boxes on church property, urging Republicans to make it happen as a heated election season looms on the horizon.
Trump’s comments on Truth Social responded to Human Events senior editor and conservative commentator Jack Posobiec’s idea to shake up the location of drop boxes in the U.S.
“I don’t know who needs to hear this but Republicans should put ballot drop boxes in the back of churches in every state where it’s legal,” Posobiec wrote.
Trump re-truthed Posobiec’s comment with the caption, “BEST IDEA I’VE HEARD IN A LONG TIME…PUT THEM ALL OVER THE PLACE. RNC, EVERY REPUBLICAN, GET TO WORK ON THIS NOW!!!”
Since the presidential election in 2020, the safety and security of ballot drop boxes have come under intense scrutiny. In 2022, the release of Dinesh D’Souza’s documentary, “2000 Mules,” highlighted damning evidence of ballot trafficking “mules.” D’Souza worked with election integrity organization True the Vote to track the movements of the mules who were a part of the nationwide ballot trafficking conspiracy.
According to claims presented in the film, potentially up to 380,000 ballots are estimated to have been allegedly stolen via ballot trafficking across the five major swing states of Arizona, Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
As reported by RSBN, the evidence from “2000 Mules” was so powerful that it prompted House GOP members in July 2022 to send a letter to the House Committee on Oversight on Reform asking for hearings on the “potential illegal activities” presented in the film.
Trump has also called for same-day voting in the past, noting in November 2022 that “it’s harder for them to cheat if you go and vote in person.”
He added of the 2020 presidential election, “the vote counter is always more important than the candidate…they’re crooked as hell.”
