Tudor Dixon, the Trump-endorsed America First gubernatorial nominee in the state of Michigan, is projected to rise to victory in November, according to a new poll from Real Clear Politics (RCP).

In a race that has been neck-and-neck, Dixon’s emergence as the potential victor in the gubernatorial contest marks a turning point for Michigan, which was previously postulated to remain under the state’s Democrat governor’s influence.

RCP expects the GOP to pick up the governorship in November, adjusting the poll average by +2.7 points 18 days before Election Day.

President Trump endorsed Tudor Dixon in early August ahead of the primary election, noting that she had “something very special – it was a quality that few others have.” He also doubled down on his endorsement of Dixon in late August, declaring that “Tudor Dixon MUST defeat Gretchen Whitmer in November!”

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) has drawn the ire of both sides of the political aisle by imposing some of the strictest Covid lockdown measures in the nation during the pandemic in 2020, per Fox News.

Whitmer’s far-left policies have turned many Michigan voters sour. This week, former Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard announced her endorsement of Dixon ahead of the November election, indicating a seismic political shift that has been drawing die-hard Democrats and Independents into the America First voting fold.

“Gretchen Whitmer is hitting the panic button, issuing 11th hour ‘press release policies’ and brining Barack Obama in to try to rescue her flailing campaign,” Dixon wrote on Twitter this week. “Gretchen is in trouble and she knows it.”

Dixon’s continued surge in the polls also come after she took on Whitmer in a fierce gubernatorial debate. “Michigan is ranked the 50th slowest COVID recovery state across the nation,” Dixon wrote on Twitter. “Michigan lost 3,000 restaurants under Gretchen’s COVID rules[.] Michigan leads the nation in small business closings[.] You’ve done enough for our economy, Gretchen.”
