Trump-endorsed candidates Kristina Karamo and Matt DePerno won the Michigan Republican Party’s endorsements by an overwhelming majority ahead of the November elections.

“Congratulations to Matt DePerno and Kristina Karamo on their tremendous victories on Saturday evening in Michigan. This is just the beginning,” President Trump said, congratulating the pair.

“They easily beat their RINO challengers because Matt and Kristina are unafraid to speak honestly about the Rigged and Stolen 2020 Presidential Election,” Trump added.

Karamo, a community college professor from Oak Park and running for secretary of state, received the GOP endorsement with a stunning 67 percent vote among all delegates from 13 districts.

Karamo celebrated the victory on Twitter, “Now it’s time for round 2! Let’s save our state!

DePerno, seeking to become attorney general, won 49 percent of the conventional vote in the first round over former state House Speaker Tom Leonard, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The Kalamazoo lawyer won the runoff with 55 percent of the vote possibly with help from Karamo, who urged delegates to back DePerno after winning her endorsement.

“Today marks the first step towards taking back our state and our country,” DePerno said in a press release following the endorsement. “I am eternally grateful to the freedom-loving patriots of the convention who put their trust in me to be their standard bearer.”

“Together, we will create a red wave to wash over the Wolverine State this Fall!” he added.

Karamo and DePerno will face their incumbent Democrat opponents in November.
