Video indicates Ashli Babbitt tried to stop Capitol attack

Of the many injured and killed during the day of protests on Jan. 6, the most famous by far is U.S. Army veteran Ashli Babbitt.

Establishment media outlets, Democrat politicians, and RINOs like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, paint Babbitt as a revolutionary, or someone who was killed during an attempted overthrow of the U.S. government.

In reality, and now documented through video, she was simply exercising her First Amendment right to protest, and even intervened to stop violence inside the Capitol building during that day of chaos.

A new frame-by-frame analysis of video reportedly recorded by John Sullivan, also known as Jayden X, appears to show that Babbitt tried to stop vandalism and violence on at least four separate occasions.

In the video, a voice, which has now been confirmed by Ashli Babbitt’s husband Aaron as his wife’s, can be heard shouting at rioters “Stop! No! Don’t! Wait!”

The video also shows that Babbitt held an expression of shock, not encouragement, as men adjacent to her were smashing glass, and that she was looking for a way out of the building, not a route to further infiltrate it.

“After repeatedly forcing myself to watch the murder of my wife, I have come to my own conclusion that Ashli came to a point of realization that she was in very bad situation and the police weren’t acting appropriately to what she was witnessing,” Aaron Babbitt told Epoch Times. “I know my wife very well. She’s not destructive, she was not there to hurt anybody.”

Aaron Babbitt believes his wife began climbing into the broken window, where she was ultimately shot and killed, in order to escape what was quickly becoming a “bad situation,” with both police freezing and not carrying out their duty, and agitators in the crowd acting increasingly violent.

An independent journalist named Tayler Hansen, who was present with Babbitt when she was shot, both confirms what the video shows, and adds new context to the events.

According to Hansen, a rioter named Zachary Alam, seen wearing a black fur-lined cap inside the Capitol Building, had broken the side window to the right of the double doors where Babbitt was shot, and reportedly planned to enter the Speaker’s Lobby before Babbitt, but was delayed due to his glasses falling off his face.

“He was about to go through that window,” Hansen told Epoch Times. “It was his idea. He was the one shattering it.”

Additionally, Hansen says Babbitt was seen helping and joking with police officers, not attacking them, prior to the shooting.

“About five minutes prior to her getting shot and killed, all of those officers, Officer Yetter and the other officers in the hall, the MPD cops, they were all joking with her and laughing with her,” Hansen told Epoch Times. “They were having conversations and joking and laughing. Then not even five minutes later, Michael Byrd comes and executes her.”
