President Donald Trump congratulated South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott on his marriage Sunday to Mindy Noce.
The Saturday ceremony was held at Seacoast Church in Charleston about eight months after Scott proposed.
“Congratulations to my longtime friend, Senator Tim Scott, and his beautiful bride, Mindy Noce, who were married today in the Great State of South Carolina. You have a GREAT future. God bless you both!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account.
Scott also took to social media to post images of his ceremony and new bride.
“Tonight, we promised to cherish and nourish each other and our marriage for the rest of our lives,” he wrote. “Mindy, you’ve made me the happiest man alive. I love you.”
He also quoted Matthew 19:6, adding, “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
A second post included the fitting words, “One day down and forever to go.”
The event was reportedly also attended by several high-profile Republican leaders. Among them were former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and former Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam.
Noce noted her support of Scott following his proposal earlier this year.
“I’m a good listener, I pride myself on that. I’ll pray and do a lot of prayer, being a prayer warrior for him, supporting him, being a listener and loving on him is my role,” she said, according to the Daily Mail.
“He is devoted to his Lord and Savior, to his family. He is devoted to his friends and his country,” she continued.
Noce is a Charleston-area designer who has three grown children from a previous marriage. Scott has not been previously married.
She made her first public appearance with Scott at the third GOP presidential debate in November. At the time, he said they had been dating for about a year and that they met through a friend at his church.
Scott previously ran as a Republican presidential candidate before suspending his campaign and supporting Trump. He ranked among the finalists for Trump’s vice presidential running mate that eventually fell to JD Vance.
