Violent members of Antifa were reportedly arrested Tuesday night, just after President Trump announced that he was sending in federal troops.

Journalist Savannah Hernandez posted footage outside of the federal ICE facility, stating, “As soon as the feds come out they run screaming. Many of them have started crying watching their comrades get arrested.”

Investigative reporter Katie Daviscourt was assaulted while filming the clashes.

Video journalist Nick Shirley posted footage of an Antifa member harassing him for filming the events of the night.

Notable journalist Andy Ngo was also at the forefront of the conflict. He posted a video of another arrest and spoke with an enthused resident who cheered on National Guard members, and shouted, “Make America Great Again!”

On Sunday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced in a press release that dozens of “antifa-aligned left-wing violent extremists” have been arrested for attacking civilians and law enforcement.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “Antifa and other left-wing extremists have shot, attacked, issued death threats against, and incited riots against law enforcement. Enough is enough: if you lay a hand on our federal law enforcement officers, you will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

This came just days after President Donald Trump designated Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, per RSBN.

On Tuesday, he authorized federal troops to mobilize in response to the Antifa siege of South Portland’s ICE field Office and continued violence in the area. The White House release on the issue declared, “The Radical Left’s reign of terror in Portland ends now.”
