Former Arizona Republican Gov. Doug Ducey endorsed President Donald Trump and Arizona Republican U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake on Tuesday, according to a post on X.
He publicly declared his support in a series of posts, stating, “Much is on the line this election year & I’m encouraging all eligible Arizonans to vote & prioritize the issues that most affect our state & nation.”
“I will be voting for Republicans up & down the ballot in November — and both Donald Trump and Kari Lake have my endorsement,” Ducey added.
In another post, Ducey referenced the importance of securing the border, reducing inflation and fixing international relations.
“America must be respected around the globe and World War III must be avoided,” he wrote.
He also pointed out the need to protect the sovereignty of the Supreme Court, extend tax cuts for struggling families, and support school choice while sharing a video clip of Trump.
“Differences aside, there is too much on the line and only a Republican in the White House and a majority in the House and US Senate can ensure it,” Ducey concluded.
His endorsement was welcomed by Lake, despite Ducey’s past criticisms. She shared an interview with Newsmax in an X post on Tuesday, stating, “I couldn’t be prouder to have Governor @DougDucey’s endorsement.”
During the interview, she stated, “The Republicans are united, don’t let the fake news media trick you.”
Lake went on to point out that the Democrats are “in disarray” and that their voter base is “waking up” and walking away from their party.
“We’re about putting out country first,” she added, describing the contrast.
“We’ve got the Republicans fully united. The independents are with us and we’re even working to bring some Democrats over because let’s face it everybody wants to have a strong economy. Everybody wants safe, secure borders; fully funded police.”
She concluded, “We want an America first agenda.”
