House Republicans took one of their most zealous steps promoting their impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden by issuing subpoenas to members of his family.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., signed subpoenas for Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, and his younger brother James Biden on Wednesday as part of the House’s investigation into the family’s alleged foreign business dealings and influence peddling.

The subpoena, which committee member Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., posted to her account on X (formerly Twitter), noted that the two Bidens will appear before the committee in early December.

Per a report from The Hill, the committee is also requesting James Biden’s wife, Sarah Biden, as well as Hunter Biden’s wife, Melissa Cohen, to provide voluntarily transcribed interviews.

The committee also requested interviews with Beau Biden’s widow, Hallie Biden, and her sister Elizabeth Secundy, according to the report. Former Biden family business affiliates Rob Walker and Tony Bobulinski have also been requested to testify to the committee.

The slew of subpoenas come weeks after Comer subpoenaed Hunter and James biden’s personal bank records, saying during this time that the records would “reveal a pattern where the Bidens sold access to Joe Biden around the world to enrich the Biden family.

Comer maintained these same accusations on Wednesday, accusing the Biden family of selling to foreign entities Joe Biden’s influence.

“These records reveal how the Bidens sold Joe Biden around the world to benefit the Biden family, including Joe Biden himself, to the detriment of U.S. interests,” Comer said in a statement.

The investigation of the Biden family business dealings came to a halt last month after the ousting of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy. However, the inquiry has since been placed back on track since the ascension of new Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., who has supported the inquiry.

“I think we have a constitutional responsibility to follow this truth where it leads,” Johnson told Fox News in late October.

The stakes are high for this investigation, as it could lead to the impeachment of Joe Biden, and in turn, could lead to his removal from office should the Senate garner the necessary votes.
