Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., has been determined to force a House vote on Impeaching Joe Biden this week, via NBC News, but this effort was swiftly refocused by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
According to the Washington Times, instead of voting on the Articles of Impeachment, McCarthy motioned to send the documents to dual House committees.
This resolution passed 219-208 and was reported on by social media strategist Chuck Callesto on Twitter.
He announced, “JUST IN: Impeachment Resolution to REMOVE JOE BIDEN FROM OFFICE passes House floor, moves to Judiciary and Homeland Security Committees..”
This has caused some confusion with voters who believed that the House voted to impeach Joe Biden.
Despite the delay in a direct vote, Boebert posted a clip of her interview on Hannity, stating, “Big win today as for the first time in 24 years, a House Republican majority voted to begin impeachment proceedings against a current president.”
The congresswoman noted, “By deliberately choosing to ignore congressionally enacted laws, Biden is trampling on our constitution.”
She accused Biden of threatening the “separation of powers and his oath of office.”
When asked about spats within the party, Boebert said, “Joe Biden’s policy, the democrats, that is my enemy that I am combating right now and I’m doing everything I can to make sure I put them in check and hold them accountable and take our country back from this radical extremism that we are seeing.”
