President Trump brought a team of America First allies with him to court on Monday, continuing a trend that has seen his closest confidants spar with the press on his behalf, since he has continually been forced to abide by an expansive gag order.

On Monday, Trump was joined by Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance (R), Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird, and New York Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R).

This week’s Monday proceedings represented the 16th day in court for the 45th president. The trial this week began by ushering in the embattled testimony of convicted felon and disbarred lawyer Michael Cohen, who spoke at length about his alleged conversations with the president regarding the so-called “hush money” payment made to porn actress Stormy Daniels, as well as a “catch-and-kill” scheme involving playboy bunny Karen McDougal.

Sen. Vance scorched Cohen’s testimony outside the trial, telling reporters, “Michael Cohen is the prosecution’s star witness. This guy is a convicted felon who admitted in his testimony that he secretly recorded his former employer.”

He added, “The thing that the president is prevented from saying, which is a disgrace, is that every single person involved in this prosecution is practically a Democratic political operative. The judge inside – his daughter is making millions of dollars running against Donald Trump, raising money for Donald Trump’s political opponents.”

Vance concluded, “What’s going on inside that courtroom is a threat to American democracy, ladies and gentlemen. We cannot have a country where you get to prosecute your political opponents instead of persuading voters.”

Iowa AG Brenna Bird also had strong words for the lawfare being waged in the heart of Manhattan. She explained on X, “Politics has no place in a criminal prosecution…It is clear that Biden & his far-left allies will stop at nothing to silence President Trump’s voice and keep him off the campaign trail by keeping him tied up in court. It’s wrong, it’s election interference, & our country deserves better.”

State Rep. Nicole Malliotakis chided the courtroom circus while speaking to the press outside, stating, “The people of the state of New York would wish that Alvin Bragg, the district attorney who brought this case, would focus on the ACTUAL CRIME that is taking place and plaguing our city.”

Monday’s America First allies are not the first fighters to join Trump at the courthouse amidst the ongoing Manhattan trial being spearheaded by District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The president’s son, Eric Trump, has made appearances, and so has Trump spokeswoman and attorney Alina Habba. Last week, Florida Sen. Rick Scott (R) joined the president in the courthouse and later fired off an impressive defense of Trump to the press.

He said, “The lead prosecutor was the number three person at the Biden Justice Department. The judge’s daughter is a political operative who raises money for Democrats…they’ve got him holed up in a courtroom so Joe Biden [can] go campaign but Donald Trump can’t. This has to STOP.”
