In November, Floridians have a very important decision to make. They can keep Florida free and prosperous or allow Florida to join the ranks of other failed states that have implemented Joe Biden’s far-left policies.
Gubernatorial candidate Rep. Charlie Crist, D-Fla., is, for all intents and purposes, Biden 2.0, as discussed here. While Republicans clearly reject his policies, which is expected, Crist has a bigger problem, as some of his previous colleagues and staff recently penned a letter supporting Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla.
As reported by Florida’s Voice, some of the names in the letter include George LeMieux, former U.S. senator of Florida. LeMieux was previously appointed to the Senate by Crist and served as the chief of staff during Crist’s governorship. Jeff Kottkamp, the former lieutenant governor, Charles Bronson, the former commissioner of agriculture, and Kenn Pruitt, the former Florida State Senate president, were also included in the letter.
In the letter, Crist’s former colleagues and staff unequivocally endorsed Gov. DeSantis for reelection, noting:
“Together, we have known Charlie in virtually all phases of his career and public life. We are well-qualified to endorse in the Florida Governors’ race because we have significant experience in public service to the state of Florida.”
“Governor DeSantis has delivered for Florida. He has led our state with courage and conviction. He has demonstrated his ability to lead us through difficult times. We stand with Governor DeSantis because the stakes are too high. We urge Florida to re-elect Ron DeSantis as our Governor.”
The midterm elections are right around the corner and DeSantis is leading Crist by up to 11 percentage points, according to one recent poll. This should come as no surprise given Crist’s admiration and high praise for a president whose policies have devastated and hurt Americans throughout the country.
Floridians want a strong leader who will protect parents, children, businesses, and the Constitution. They oppose efforts to indoctrinate and sexualize children in schools and elsewhere. They reject unnecessary lockdowns and mandates in Florida’s schools and elsewhere, dangerous abortion-on-demand policies, severe crackdowns on various constitutional rights including the Second Amendment, higher taxes, the imposition of woke ideologies, and a loss of various freedoms that so many Floridians cherish.
Crist is not only facing an uphill battle with registered Republican voters in Florida, who significantly outnumber registered Democrat voters but an uphill battle with some of those who worked with him and who know him well. If such trends continue, Crist will have a very difficult time defeating Gov. DeSantis in November.
