A Democrat witness who told the House Judiciary Committee Thursday that she believed men could become pregnant and have abortions was ripped by conservatives last week.
According to Fox News, Aimee Arrambide, executive director of the pro-abortion nonprofit Avow Texas, was testifying before the committee on abortion access when Rep. Dan Bishop, R-N.C., asked her for her definition of the word “woman.”
“I believe that everyone can identify for themselves,” Arrambide answered.
“Do you believe, then, that men can become pregnant and have abortions?” Bishop asked, to which Arrambide replied, “Yes.”
The exchange perplexed many conservatives on Twitter, who took to the platform to express their confusion.
“Does this mean the left’s argument is no longer ‘abortion is women’s healthcare’?” Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., wondered.
Meanwhile, urologist Dr. David Samadi offered his professional input, tweeting: “I’m a men’s health expert. In all my years of practice, I’ve never seen a pregnant man. Let me assure you, it is not scientifically possible.”
Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., also weighed in on the exchange, quipping: “So I guess men can have an opinion on abortion after all. Thanks for clearing that up.”
The representative shared her thoughts in greater detail on Saturday’s “Unfiltered with Dan Bongino.” Boebert asserted, “Anyone who says that men, biological men, can have babies is a ‘lying, dog-faced pony soldier,'” she said, referencing a famous Joe Biden gaffe.
Also praising her fellow representative for exposing the “baffling” ideology of those like Arrambide, Boebert contended, “I think Congressman Dan Bishop did a wonderful job at really pinning her down in this line of questioning and getting this out.”
