Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., won a decisive and powerful victory on Tuesday night, officially winning reelection in the Sunshine State and dealing an overwhelming blow to his Democrat opponent, Charlie Crist.
According to Fox News, DeSantis won his reelection by an incredible 20-point spread, blowing projections out of the water and firmly cementing Florida as a deep-red state.
DeSantis’s resounding victory over Crist is a powerful indication that Florida is getting redder every day, charting a path forward in the realm of politics. The governor’s unflinchingly strong leadership throughout the Covid pandemic, along with his refusal to back down on moral issues like parent’s rights, earned him the love and support of his constituents.
“Florida protects children and supports parents,” DeSantis tweeted just one day before the election. “We will not allow for the sexualization of young students, and we will not allow school officials to replace the role of parents.”
DeSantis has also hammered home support among GOP voters and Democrats alike through his promotion of even-keeled education. “In Florida, we refuse to use tax dollars to teach kids to hate our country or to hate each other, which is why we have eliminated CRT and indoctrination from our classrooms,” DeSantis also stated on Twitter.
Further, DeSantis also charted a path to victory for the entire Florida Republican Party. Per RSBN, Sen. Marco Rubio additionally won his reelection race Tuesday night.
According to a report from the Miami Herald, Republicans in Florida have won a supermajority in both chambers of the Florida state legislature this election cycle, earning 85-35 seats in the House and 28-12 seats in the Senate.
There can be no doubt that such a rock-solid Republican resurgence in the Sunshine State has come largely because of the leadership of Gov. DeSantis. His overwhelming victory on Tuesday night is historic and provides a valuable blueprint for political success and effectiveness for future GOP leaders.
