Donald Trump Jr., President Donald Trump’s eldest son, defended his father as the only “candidate for President that the radical left and the establishment RINOs actually fear” just hours before Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared his run for the White House in 2024.
Trump Jr. on Wednesday tweeted a snippet of a Miami Herald article delving into what “Never Trump” Republicans think of a Trump-DeSantis showdown. “There’s only one candidate for President that the radical left and the establishment RINOs actually fear and his name is Donald J. Trump!” he said.
Trump Jr.’s remark came just hours before DeSantis officially declared his 2024 presidential run on Twitter Spaces LIVE with Elon Musk on Wednesday, according to RSBN.
The Florida governor also posted a video on Twitter announcing his candidacy to “lead our Great American Comeback” and cited the current administration’s shortcomings as the basis for throwing his hat in the ring, RSBN noted.
“Our border is a disaster. Crime infests our cities. The federal government makes it harder for families to make ends meet. And the president flounders,” DeSantis stated in the video, championing his tenure as governor of the Sunshine State.
“We held the line when freedom hung in the balance. We showed that we can—and must—revitalize America. We need the courage to lead and the strength to win. I’m Ron DeSantis, and I’m running for president to lead our Great American Comeback,” he concluded.
President Trump congratulated “Rob DeSanctimonious” on his presidential run, saying, “Hopefully he will get the full experience of being attacked by the Marxists, Communists, and Radical Left Lunatics of our Country, without which he will never know the kind of job he is doing.”
“I’d like to personally congratulate ‘Rob’ DeSanctimonious on finally announcing that he will be entering the race for President of the United States,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social.
He continued, “Hopefully he will get the full experience of being attacked by the Marxists, Communists, and Radical Left Lunatics of our Country, without which he will never know the kind of job he is doing. These Lowlifes & Misfits are far worse than the leaders of hostile foreign countries. They must be soundly defeated in order to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
