State Sen. Doug Mastriano, R-Pa., has continued his upward rise through the polls ahead of Pennsylvania’s gubernatorial primary election amidst a glowing endorsement from President Donald Trump. Mastriano is currently a state senator in Pennsylvania’s 33rd district, serving Adams, Franklin, Cumberland, and York counties.
According to a new Emerson College Polling study, Mastriano is holding onto first place in the GOP race with 34 percent of the potential vote, while opponent Lou Barletta lags behind at 22 percent. The poll also reported that with the support of undecided voters surveyed who expressed that they would vote for Mastriano, he surged to 42 percent of the vote.
The 45th president stated in his endorsement, “There is no one in Pennsylvania who has done more, or fought harder, for Election Integrity than State Senator Doug Mastriano. He has revealed the Deceit, Corruption, and outright Theft of the 2020 Presidential Election, and will do something about it.”
Trump called Mastriano a “fighter like few others, and has been with me right from the beginning, and now I have an obligation to be with him.” Mastriano held some of the first voter fraud hearings in Pennsylvania just after the 2020 election.
Additionally, Trump pointed out that Mastriano would make a great team with Republican Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz, calling them an “unbeatable team going into the most important Midterm Election in the history of our country.”
Mastriano responded to Trump’s endorsement and posted his statement on Twitter. “I’m honored to receive the endorsement from President Trump today,” he said. “But the honor is not for me. It’s for the millions of hard-working Pennsylvanians who want their individual liberties restored, power returned to the people, and for their elected leaders to fulfill the America First – and Pennsylvania First – agenda.”
Mastriano is a combat veteran and holds four master’s degrees in Strategy, Strategic Intelligence, Military Operations, and Airpower.
“I have fully endorsed Dr. Oz,” President Trump continued, “and now it is my great honor to give my Complete and Total Endorsement to a man who will never let you down, Doug Mastriano for Governor of Pennsylvania!”
Pennsylvania’s primaries will occur Tuesday, May 17.
