First Lady Melania Trump released a rare statement ahead of the presidential debate on Tuesday between President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

The audio statement was released on the first lady’s social platforms and was shared by the 45th president on Truth Social on Tuesday.

“The 2020 election results changed our lives forever. It impacted our quality of life, cost of food, gasoline, safety and even the geopolitical landscape,” Melania Trump said.

“America is more divided today than ever before. It has become increasingly apparent that there are significant challenges to free speech as demonstrated by the efforts to silence my husband,” she added.

Melania Trump has been largely quiet during the 2024 presidential campaign, though she has noted her clear support for her husband’s comeback bid for the White House.

Some also see the statement as an opportunity to speak out on behalf of Donald Trump as he is limited on what he can say due to a gag order related to his legal cases.

The first lady’s statement ended with an image of her upcoming book, self-title “Melania.” As RSBN previously reported, Melania Trump offered a preview of her upcoming memoir which promises to include new personal information on her life with President Donald Trump.

The details were shared in a video posted to X on Thursday that has already been viewed more than 5.6 million times.

“My Story. My Perspective. The Truth,” the first lady shared alongside the video.

“Writing this memoir has been a deeply personal and reflective journey for me,” she stated in the video.

“As a private person who has often been the subject of public scrutiny and misrepresentation, I feel a responsibility to clarify the facts. I believe it is important to share my perspective, the truth,” Trump continued.

Her self-titled book “Melania” will be released on Oct. 1. The book reached the top spot on multiple Amazon ‘Best Sellers’ lists more than a month before its release.

The first lady previously released a statement following the assassination attempt against her husband in July.

“When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change. I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband,” she wrote in part.
