GETTR, a pro-free speech Twitter alternative, saw a 323 percent increase in sign-ups following Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter.

GETTR Chief Executive Officer Jason Miller recently spoke out about Musk’s new leadership within the anti-free speech platform, claiming not that not “even an innovator like Elon Musk” can repair the broken company.

“It’s clear that if Twitter is to be a force for free speech again, it needs a wholesale tear-down to the foundation. Its leadership must be removed and the politically discriminating ideologues running day to day operations must be replaced. This would include programmers and nearly everyone else who works there – and that’s an incredible, if not impossible, undertaking.”

Miller suggested Musk “may find it easier to land a rocket on Mars than to change Twitter’s culture” – and he may have a point.

While Musk’s new ownership of the tech signals a victory for free speech, it may not be enough to transform the company from the inside out while keeping Americans engaged on the platform.

Years of outright censorship on Twitter have caused Americans to seek free speech alternatives, like GETTR and Truth Social.

Truth Social, President Trump’s social media platform, has even surpassed Twitter in the Apple app store, acquiring the #1 spot following Musk’s move to acquire Twitter.
