Republican Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs revealed to Just the News Tuesday that he will be pushing for a new criminal referral in connection to Hunter Biden.

“There should be one from both committees, Oversight and Judiciary, and I’m kind of pushing for it behind the scenes,” Biggs told “Just the News, No Noise” show.

Congressional committees have dug deeper into Hunter Biden’s connection to alleged illegal foreign business involving not only himself but his family and father, Joe Biden. While Hunter Biden has testified to Congress previously about his relationship with security firms overseas, new evidence surfaced that conflicted with his statements.

FBI evidence seized in 2016 revealed Hunter Biden’s signature on an employment contract, which shows his title as the firm’s vice chairman for the Burnham Asset Management firm, according to Just the News. However, in February, Hunter Biden testified to Congress denying his involvement with the company.

“And did you have any active participation in Burnham, either as an equity holder, director, or officer?” Biggs previously asked.

“No. I don’t think that ever came to fruition. I think that there was a proposal that I’d be a part of that, but it all fell apart in all of this,” Hunter Biden responded.

Prior to his testimony in February, Biden’s son avoided appearing before Congress in January, pushing the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability to pass a resolution recommending that the lawmakers find Hunter Biden in contempt for his refusal.

“The reality is you can’t lie to Congress, and he did,” Biggs told Just the News. “He did it overtly.”
