House Republicans trolled Democrats this week by offering to pay their political opponents to fly to El Salvador and meet with MS-13 gang members amid the far-left’s fixation with romanticizing “Maryland Man” Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was deported under the Trump administration’s anti-illegal immigration policies.
According to an email circulating online from the National Republican Congressional Committee, they are offering to “pick up the tab for any House Democrat eager to hang out with their new poster child in El Salvador, a confirmed illegal immigrant, MS-13 gang member, and alleged domestic abuser.”
Additionally, the National Senatorial Committee released a travel ad making fun of Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen’s (D) meeting with Garcia in El Salvador, per the New York Post.
“Welcome to El Salvador. Home to breathtaking sunsets, world-class surf breaks, and gang banger Kilmar Abrego Garcia,” a narrator facetiously explained in the video.
These new Republican political stunts come amid media furor over Democrats like California Rep. Robert Garcia and Oregon Rep. Mazine Dexter’s trips to El Salvador in an apparent bid to advocate for the return of Garcia.
“We have just one condition: Livestream the whole thing,” the NRCC email reads. “Snap plenty of selfies with your MS-13 buddies – the same violent criminals you’re trying to reimport into American neighborhoods to rape, kill, and terrorist law-abiding citizens.”
Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s story has been a lightning rod for controversy in the media, but the Trump administration has remained firm that he will not be welcomed back into America.
On Monday, the White House released a scathing statement smacking down the priorities of Democrats traveling to El Salvador, writing, “ Today, four more Democrats — Rep. Robert Garcia of California, Rep. Maxwell Frost of Florida, Rep. Yassamin Ansari of Arizona, and Rep. Maxine Dexter of Oregon — are in El Salvador, picking up their party’s mantle of prioritizing a deported illegal immigrant MS-13 gang member over the Americans they represent.”
President Trump has also been very clear about his stance on this issue.
“Radical Lunatic Democrats and their Comrades in the Fake News Media are falsely making Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia out to be a very sweet and innocent person, which is a total, blatant, and dangerous LIE,” President Trump wrote on Monday in a blistering Truth Social post.
He added, “Garcia has been found by two separate Courts to be a member of the violent, killer gang MS-13, was in our country illegally, and is under the Deportation Order.”
Trump said it was “despicable and unAmerican” for the media to “hate our country so much, and be obsessed with protecting criminals, instead of working to keep our Border, streets, and families safe.”
