Joe Biden has been caught in the crosshairs of another scandal as the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has found staggering evidence that he, along with his family, received millions of dollars from a Chinese energy company after he left the office of the vice presidency.
On Thursday, the committee released a memo digging into the details of their investigation into the Biden familyâs business dealings, following a subpoena that was issued by the chairman, Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., that demanded financial records in relation to their probe.
Per their report:
âPursuant to a subpoena, the Committee recently obtained financial records related to Mr. John Robinson Walker, a Biden family associate, and his company Robinson Walker, LLC. Prior to issuing the subpoena, the Committee received information that Mr. Walker used his company to transfer money to Biden family members. The bank records proved that information correct.
Ranking Member Jamie Raskin mischaracterized the substance of the bank records by referencing payments related to Mr. Walkerâs miscellaneous purchases such as âPapa Johnâsâ and âcoffee at Starbucks[.]â Rep. Raskin omitted material facts that Robinson Walker, LLC received a $3 million wire from a Chinese company in March 2017âless than two months after Vice President Joe Biden left public officeâand that Mr. Walker then transferred over a million dollars to various bank accounts associated with the Bidens in the following months.â
Their review established that Mr. Walker had formed Robinson Walker, LLC, in Delaware in 2008 and that between 2015 to 2017, âBiden family members and their companies received over $1.3 million in payments from Rob Walker related accounts.â
Those who received money included Hunter Biden, Hallie Biden, and James Brian Biden Sr.
Most disturbingly, their report stated, âOn March 1, 2017âless than two months after Vice President Joe Biden left public officeâ State Energy HK Limited, a Chinese company, wired $3 million to Robinson Walker, LLC. At the time of the wire, Rob Walkerâs business account had a balance of approximately $159,000.â
The committeeâs investigation also found that after this transfer, there was evidence that Robinson Walker, LLC supposedly âwired $1,065,000 to a company associated with James Gilliar,â who was a business partner to Hunter Biden and âwas involved in foreign transactions with the Biden family[.]â
A fourth and unidentified âBidenâ apparently received money incrementally, along with James, Hunter, and Hallie. âWe are continuing to investigate the identity of this account,â the Oversight Committee stated on Twitter.
âForm the bank records, it appears that the Biden family received approximately one-third of the money obtained from the China wire,â they stated.
In their memo, members of the committee noted that they were âconcerned about the national security implications of a Presidentâs or Vice Presidentâs immediate family members receiving millions of dollars from foreign nationals or companies without any oversight.â
They are now asking for meaningful reforms to âgovernment ethics and disclosure laws that will provide necessary transparency into a Presidentâs or Vice Presidentâs immediate family membersâ income, assets, and financial relationships with companies.â
