Elon Musk shared his excitement on social media early Tuesday morning concerning reports of joining the Trump administration to cut wasteful government spending and regulations.

His post on X cited a recent Washington Post article highlighting Musk’s plans to join several business executives in next Trump administration.

“I can’t wait. There is a lot of waste and needless regulation in government that needs to go,” Musk wrote.

Musk’s post quoted Mario Nawfal, host of “No Bias, No Echo Chambers,” which claims to be the largest show on the X platform.

“Trump is reportedly eyeing a plan to involve prominent business executives, including Elon, in auditing federal agencies to identify programs to cut,” Nawfal stated.

“Elon has already shown interest in taking on the role,” he added.

The post reached more than 10.5 million views in less than 24 hours.

RSBN previously reported that Trump shared the surprising news of including Musk in his next administration during a Reuters interview last month in York, Pennsylvania.

“He’s a very smart guy. I certainly would, if he would do it, I certainly would. He’s a brilliant guy,” Trump said.

Trump also noted his view on electric vehicles, an important area related to Musk’s Tesla EV company.

“I’m not making any final decisions on it,” Trump said of the EV tax credit. “I’m a big fan of electric cars, but I’m a fan of gasoline-propelled cars, and also hybrids and whatever else happens to come along.”

“I am willing to serve,” Musk wrote later on Monday in a humorous post on X.

The post included an AI-generated image of himself behind a Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.) podium.

Musk has admitted he has previously supported Democrats, but came out in support of Trump following the assassination attempt against him in Pennsylvania in July.

“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk wrote on X alongside a video from the shooting.

Musk, the owner of X, Tesla and SpaceX, is noted as one of the world’s richest people. His purchase of Twitter transformed social media, as he turned the company private and declared it a safe space for free speech.
