Tech leaders Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are expected to attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday in Washington, D.C., according to a report from NBC News.
Each of the three Big Tech CEOs has donated $1 million or more to the president’s inaugural committee.
Musk has served as a close ally of Trump since announcing his support following an assassination attempt against the president last summer. He became one of Trump’s biggest donors and campaigned for him during the closing weeks of the 2024 presidential election.
The Tesla CEO has since joined the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency with former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy to help reduce wasteful government spending.
Bezos, the founder of Amazon and owner of The Washington Post, changed the outlet’s policy by not endorsing a candidate during the past presidential election. Amazon has also donated $1 million to the inaugural committee.
Zuckerberg, who leads Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, recently changed the company’s fact-checking policies to increase free speech on the platforms. He is also expected to attend a reception with GOP donor Miriam Adelson on Monday night.
Apple CEO Tim Cook also reportedly donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural committee, Axios reported on Friday. He was not mentioned in the report with the other three tech leaders expected to attend the inauguration.
The announcement comes after Cook met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago last month after the election.
“Cook, a proud Alabama native, believes the inauguration is a great American tradition, and is donating to the inauguration in the spirit of unity, the sources said. The company is not expected to give,” Axios reported.
“Cook, with a consistent presence in Washington, has made it clear over the years that he believes in participation, not sitting on the sidelines, and engaging with policymakers from both sides of the aisle,” it continued.
Cook previously congratulated Trump on his election victory, posting, “We look forward to engaging with you and your administration to help make sure the United States continues to lead with and be fueled by ingenuity, innovation, and creativity.”
