It looks like Kari Lake will not be on President Donald Trump’s shortlist of vice-presidential running mates, now that the former news anchor and Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate has outrightly teased that her prospective Senate run is imminent.
On Tuesday, Lake dropped a teaser trailer on X that recapped the rampant speculation regarding whether she would run for the U.S. Senate. In the video, she states, “It is my duty to the citizens of Arizona to stay in it. If you think that I’m going away…you’ve got another thing coming.”
The video caps off with a shot of a teeming crowd of supporters chanting, “KARI! KARI! KARI!” At the end of the trailer, two words appear: “STAY TUNED.”
The Kari Lake War Room account on X facetiously remarked after the release of the video, “STAY CALM, EVERYONE[.]”
Last week, RSBN reported that Lake’s possible Senate run appeared ready to launch, based on alleged insider information from Politico. However, rumors have swirled for months that Lake set her sights on the U.S. Senate, and she has openly discussed her interest in jumping into a campaign.
While there has not been a lot of polling on a prospective Lake Senate run, her popularity among Arizona GOP voters is likely to be a huge boon for any campaign she chooses to run.
U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., will be seeking the Democrat nomination for the Arizona Senate seat in 2024, while popular conservative and Arizona Sheriff Mark Lamb is currently running his own campaign for the U.S. Senate.
Right now, the seat is currently held by Sen. Krysten Sinema, I-Ariz., who famously switched her party affiliation from Democrat to Independent in 2022.
It seems as if Lake has already started on the campaign warpath, reposting statements from her war room account that took harsh aim at Sinema, noting, “Sinema is a political con artist. Was Sinema ‘moderate’ when she voted to impeach Trump TWICE on bulls#! Charges? How about when she voted to the left of Bernie Sanders her entire political career? It’s all just a game to her Arizonans are tired of playing along.”
Lake’s close alliance with President Donald Trump and her powerful position in Republican politics nationwide puts her in a good position to not only run for Senate but likely win.
