Several key battleground states remain too close to call after midnight Eastern Time, according to Decision Desk HQ.
While the outlet projected both North Carolina and Georgia for President Donald Trump, the five remaining swing states, along with some additional states, have no projected winner.
Among swing states, Trump currently leads in four of the remaining five states of Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. No data has yet been posted for Nevada.
In addition, New Mexico and Minnesota have not yet been called, though Vice President Kamala Harris currently leads both states. In Maine, Harris leads in one of two districts.
Alaska and Hawaii’s polls close at midnight Eastern and have not yet projected a winner. Alaska is expected to remain solidly Republican, while Hawaii is likely to remain Democrat.
So far, Trump is projected to win 247 electoral votes, while Harris is projected to win 208. A total of 270 electoral votes is required to win the presidential election.
The Harris campaign told its staffers to “get some sleep” and did not expect a winner before early Wednesday. Trump’s supporters are gathered in Florida for a watch party anticipating the results.
