Former New York gubernatorial candidate and House Representative Lee Zeldin recently endorsed President Trump for the 2024 election.

Zeldin ran a close race during the 2022 midterms. According to the Washington Examiner, he received the highest vote total of any Republican in over 50 years.

Now looking ahead, he is using his popularity to endorse President Trump. He stated, “Our economy will be stronger, our streets will be safer, & our lives will be freer. He has my full support!”

During President Trump’s first term in office, the median household income increased by 6.8 percent, according to the Wall Street Journal. At the start of 2020, the average unemployment rate dropped to its lowest level in American history, via the Washington Examiner. Even the New York Times reported that U.S. poverty rates hit a record low in 2019.

President Trump also offered a mixture of criminal justice reform with law and order policies during his first term. These policies dropped violent crime by five percent, according to Forbes. At the same time, the PEW Research Center noted that the incarceration rate had been reduced to levels not seen in 25 years.

In addition, President Trump has championed Americans’ constitutional rights. He has released videos urging the need to protect the First Amendment.

Most recently, he gave a speech on the importance of protecting Americans’ Second Amendment rights at the NRA Annual Meeting

Now that the American economy is struggling, crime has increased, and multiple leaders are debating gun control and information reform, Zeldin’s endorsement comes with the hope that President Trump will “save our country.”
