A migrant caravan leader threatened the Biden administration by stating he is “ready for war” with federal officials by Oct. 25 as he prepares the next wave of Haitian and Central American illegal immigrants to cross the U.S.-Mexico border.
Irineo Mujica, the caravan leader, is reportedly both a U.S. citizen and a citizen of Mexico. He has an extensive record of not only being a controversial illegal immigration activist, but has also been previously accused of human trafficking.
Mujica went on record on Tuesday in front of what appeared to be several migrants and reporters in Mexico, stating “We prefer a caravan with documents, but united all of us, anyone who wishes to leave with us in 20 days, join us and we will leave from Tapachula (Mexico).”
Mujica warned he would be departing from a city in Mexico, specifically Tapachula, with thousands of mostly Haitian migrants. He expects to march toward the U.S. with more than 80,000 migrants.
Not only would the anticipated number of migrants be record-breaking, but their defiant attitude toward the U.S. government may be the worst ever witnessed by undocumented migrants who have no right to illegally encroach upon U.S. borders.
“This time, with or without papers, we are ready for WAR! If the National Guard comes and are as cowardly as to hit our women and children, they better be prepared!” Mujica shouted, threatening southern border officials.
Rallies and marches had been brewing within Tapachula for weeks amid rapidly increasing migrant levels.
Multiple officials, both national and foreign, predict this caravan could be the largest one to date. Sources also expect close to 400,000 migrants to arrive at the southern border by the end of the month.
Ever since 15,000 migrants arrived last month at the Del Rio, Texas sector, the southern border’s facilities and capabilities have been rapidly deteriorating.
Border patrol agents are overworked, disappointed, and overwhelmed. The Biden administration has been of little help, cutting back on funds to continue constructing the border wall that many U.S. officials, including the former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott, have long-argued is necessary to strengthen border security. They have also threatened to terminate any border patrol agents not vaccinated by mid-November. The upcoming termination of border patrol officials comes as illegal crossings reach unprecedented levels.
A decimated workforce coupled with an uptick in illegal migration is a recipe for disaster, and if the Biden administration does not change their tune, the U.S. could be in for irreparable damage at our nation’s border for decades to come.
