The historic indictment of President Trump was highly documented. Millions of Americans supported him and questioned the motives behind Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s case.

Now, One America News (OAN) has reported that he is being sued by the Heritage Foundation regarding Bragg’s alleged “political motivation” against President Trump.

According to the Washington Examiner, Bragg campaigned on the premise that he would investigate Trump.

In addition, multiple Republican leaders questioned Bragg’s motives. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., decried the Manhattan DA and even called for him to be arrested for “prosecutorial misconduct,” per RSBN.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., spoke out against the charges stating, “Alvin Bragg is attempting to interfere in our democratic process by invoking federal law to bring politicized charges against President Trump” via RSBN

By mid-April, House Republicans had introduced legislation to strip Bragg’s office of funding on the grounds that the Manhattan DA had “weaponized” the justice system.

According to the OAN report, The Heritage Foundation has filed two lawsuits against Bragg. The first alleges that Bragg violated the state Freedom of Information Law. The second lawsuit noted in the report alleges that Bragg received pro-bono aid from outside law firms. The Heritage Foundation is requesting that the courts demand the Manhattan DA release information regarding the firms.

Within the lawsuit, the Heritage report stated, “Bragg crossed the Rubicon by indicting President Trump on a document retention dispute. Well, now he has a document retention dispute with us.”
