A new film from Angel Studios is fighting back against the depravity of child sex trafficking by shedding a light on the heinous industry that has rapidly spread its tentacles across the globe.

On July 4, the “Sound of Freedom” will open nationwide in theaters, starring actor Jim Caviezel, who is best known for his work in “The Passion of the Christ.”

Angel Studios is the same organization responsible for bringing the hit crowd-funded Christian series, “The Chosen” to the screen.

In an official press statement from the studio, the platform explained that the film is based on a true story:

“Angel Studios, the platform empowering filmmakers with full creative control to crowdfund, create, and distribute films and TV series globally, is announcing the debut of the highly-anticipated new film, SOUND OF FREEDOM, coming to theaters nationwide beginning July 4. The film is based on a true story of one man’s heroic efforts as he embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue children from human traffickers.”

The film is based on the real-life mission of Tim Ballard, who founded “Operation Underground Railroad,” whose mission is to rescue children from sex trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Their website states, “We lead the fight against child sex trafficking and sexual exploitation around the globe. Our work has no boundaries- we go to the darkest corners of the world to assist law enforcement in rescuing children and ensure ongoing aftercare. We provide critical resources to law enforcement and preventative efforts that benefit at-risk children worldwide.”

Ballard himself previously worked as a special agent for the Department of Homeland Security, where he was assigned to the International Crimes Against Children Task Force, per O.U.R. This kick-started his passion for rescuing children from the evils of the international sex slave and trafficking industry.

The studio is aiming to drive two million people to see the movie during its opening week to represent the two million children every year who are trafficked.

Elon Musk, the new CEO of Twitter, suggested last week that the “Sound of Freedom” even be made available on the social media platform for users to watch.
