45th President Donald Trump continues to crush Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 presidential rematch as Biden reaches an all-time historic low approval rating among the American public.

According to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone online survey of 1,000 U.S. Likely Voters conducted July 26-27, 46 percent would vote for President Trump if an election were held today. Contrarily, Biden only received support from 40 percent of voters, and 10 percent would pick another candidate.

President Trump scored high within his own base. 77 percent of Republican voters indicated they would vote for the 45th president. Unaffiliated voters also trended toward Trump, earning 42 percent of the vote compared to Biden’s 34 percent.

Voters also reported having a more favorable view of the 45th president at 49 percent versus Biden’s 43 percent. Biden’s unfavorability ranking sits at 53 percent as his approval rating dips lower than any of his predecessors at this point in their presidencies. As previously reported, Biden’s approval rating has dropped significantly, hitting 40 percent.

Biden’s low rating comes as the nation heads into a recession after two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth.

Trump appears to be planning for a potential run in 2024, as a new report from Axios notes that the president has tightened his inner circle of advisors and distanced himself from former senior advisor Hope Hicks, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former campaign manager Bill Stepien, as previously reported.
