New York and Washington DOJ officials to announce ‘arrests and charges’ in a ‘significant national security matter’

At 1:00 p.m. ET on Monday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York will hold a press conference to announce “arrests and charges in 3 significant national security matters.”

According to a statement from the EDNY’s official Twitter account, the conference will be livestreamed on EDNY’s official Facebook page here.

The press conference will be held in cohesion with the New York FBI, the FBI Washington Field office, and the National Security Division of the DOJ.

Earlier on Monday morning, an alleged but unconfirmed media advisory from the U.S. Department of Justice surfaced online, foreshadowing the arrests.

“This afternoon, Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for national security David Newman, U.S. Attorney Breon Peace for the Eastern District of New York, Assistant Director in Charge Michael J. Driscoll of the FBI New York Field Office, and Assistant Director in Charge David Sunberg of the FBI Washington Field Office will host a press conference to announce arrests and charges in a significant national security matter,” the advisory stated.
