The New York City Police Department is mobilizing hundreds of riot police officers ahead of President Donald Trump’s possible indictment by the Manhattan district attorney’s office this week, the Washington Examiner reported.
On Friday, President Donald Trump confirmed reports that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was mulling over indicting the 45th president on potential charges related to an old “hush money” case from 2016 connected to porn star actress Stormy Daniels.
Trump stated that all signs indicated that he “WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK.”
Trump’s comment was made last Friday, in reference to this week.
Ahead of Tuesday’s potential indictment, the Washington Examiner also reported that attorney Robert Costello allegedly would be delivering testimony to a grand jury in the case, at the request of the Trump team.
On Monday, videos of barricades being erected outside of the Manhattan Criminal Court surfaced online. Twitter news account Disclose.tv shared a video showing NYPD unloading steel barricades from the back of a truck.
Trending Politics also reported that at least 700 riot officers had been mobilized ahead of this week’s potential indictment of the 45th president. However, the move from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has been met with fiery criticism by Republicans across the board.
As reported by RSBN, the Chairmen of the House Committees on the Judiciary, House Administration, and Oversight and Accountability penned a letter to the DA’s office on Monday, lambasting Bragg for his reported move to “engage in an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority: the indictment of a former President of the United States and current declared candidate for that office.”
President of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, wrote on Twitter on Monday that the impending arrest was “about revenge.” He explained why he believed that Hillary Clinton’s humiliating defeat in 2016 was the underlying issue: “This is why they’re arresting Trump. He messed up their plans and humiliated them. It’s about revenge.”
