Randi Mahomes, the mother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, shared her support to “Make America Great Again” ahead of her son’s game on Monday Night Football.
The video post on social media included Randi Mahomes wearing a MAGA hat, saying, “Make America great again! Let’s do it!”
Patrick’s mother is not the first family member to express her support for President Donald Trump. Trump previously expressed his thanks to Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Patrick Mahomes, for defending him online after she was targeted over her political support.
Trump took to his Truth Social account to extend his appreciation to the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback.
“I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country,” he wrote.
“With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless ‘leaders,’ it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM. What a great couple – See you both at the Super Bowl!” Trump concluded.
Brittany Mahomes was criticized for liking Trump posts that called for closing the border and stopping biological males from competing in women’s sports. She later doubled down against the criticism.
“I mean honestly,” Mahomes wrote in an Aug. 13 Instagram story. “To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood.”
She added, “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”
Patrick Mahomes later responded to a reporter’s question on Wednesday about his wife’s support of Trump. He supported his wife while declining to make an official endorsement of any candidate.
The words followed strong media attention of Brittany Mahomes who recently received praise from Trump after standing up to online criticism of her political views.
“I think you see Brittany does a lot in the community,” the 28-year-old Super Bowl MVP told reporters, according to Fox News.
“I do a lot in the community to help bring people up and give people an opportunity to use their voice,” He said. “In political times, people are going to use stuff here and there, but I can’t let that affect how I go about my business every single day of my life and trying to live it to the best of my ability. At the end of the day, it’s about me and my family and how we treat other people.”
