President Trump will return to South Carolina on Monday, Sept. 25, amid sky-high polling numbers ahead of the 2024 Republican presidential primary.
Over the summer, President Trump held a monstrous rally in Pickens, South Carolina, that drew tens of thousands of supporters and American patriots who gathered in the streets of the historic town to hear remarks from the 45th president and to celebrate Independence Day.
Now, ahead of his return to South Carolina, Trump is polling higher than ever, wiping the floor with other Republican presidential hopefuls who may have been aiming to win the Palmetto State in the primary.
A recent WP/Monmouth poll of the 2024 South Carolina GOP primary revealed Trump has a 28-point lead among Republican voters. In the runner-up position was Nikki Haley (18 percent), the former Republican governor of South Carolina. Current Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., nabbed the third-place position with 10 percent of support, while Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., fell to single digits in fourth place with just nine percent.
A new Fox News poll also found that Trump held 46 percent of South Carolina Republican voters’ support while Haley captured 18 percent.
According to a report from The State, the president is expected to deliver remarks at Sportsman Boats in Summerville on Monday, noting that this will be the president’s fourth stop of the year so far in South Carolina.
The stop in South Carolina will also be just two days before the second scheduled GOP presidential debate, which will take place on Sept. 27. Instead of attending the debate, RSBN reported that the president will instead opt to travel to Detroit, Michigan, to talk to United Auto Workers union members who are currently striking.
President Trump is tentatively expected to deliver remarks in Summerville on Sept. 25 at 3:00 p.m. ET. Doors to the event will open at 12:00 p.m., and the program will kick off at 2:00 p.m.
