Fox News host Sean Hannity will moderate a debate on Thursday between Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., and Governor Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., who share a strong political rivalry.

DeSantis and Newsom are both considered high-profile political figures, commonly known for making national headlines and holding strong support from their respective political party bases.

The feud between the two politicians started to heat up during their respective reelection campaigns for governor last year as both lead states that are economically strong.

While the highly-anticipated debate between DeSantis and Newsom will be closely watched, it seems some voters think the debate’s winner will likely split down party lines, according to The Hill.

According to a post on X by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., “no one cares about this debate except the Rep establishment, who is completely disconnected with the Rep. establishment.” In this same X post, Greene states that “GA is supporting Trump.”

It is worth noting that some congressmen like Rep. Kevin Kiley, R-Calif., are embracing the debate between DeSantis and Newsom. In an X post, Kiley lists ten questions he wants DeSantis to ask Newsom at the debate.

The questions posed by Kiley relate to serious issues in the state including gas prices, homelessness, and the California exodus. Several of the problems listed by Kiley existed before Newsom became governor, but Kiley believes Newsom’s time in office has exacerbated these issues.

Furthermore, Kiley has consistently scrutinized Newsom’s policies as governor in California and is proud to hold the title of Newsom’s biggest critic.
