The National Rifle Association announced that President Donald Trump will headline the 2022 NRA-ILA Leadership Forum.

“It is truly an honor to have President Trump address NRA members for the sixth time at our 2022 NRA-ILA Leadership Forum in Houston,” NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre said in an announcement last week.

The forum will take place on Friday, May 27, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Trump will also be joined by prominent Second Amendment supporters such as Gov. Greg Abbott, Sen. Ted Cruz, and Rep. Dan Crenshaw.

“President Trump delivered on his promises by appointing judges who respect and value the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and in doing so helped ensure the freedom of generations of Americans. NRA members are excited to hear him speak and thank him for his support for our right to keep and bear arms,” LaPierre continued.

NRA-ILA Executive Director Jason Ouimet told Fox News Digital that the organization’s members are “thrilled” to have the 45th president back. President Trump last spoke at their annual gathering in 2019, when he affirmed that he and his administration “believe in the right to self-defense and the right to protect your family, your community, your loved ones.”

Thousands are expected to attend the NRA’s first mass gathering after a break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Moreover, the Daily Caller reported that the president’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., recently launched Second Amendment Task Force (2ATF), a gun rights organization attempting to hinder the Biden administration from “trampling” on Second Amendment rights.
